Read Poetry Campaign
We hear much that poetry is read less while it is written more. Even less it is purchased. Poetry is not a saleable art as other genres are. It is difficult to find a publisher for poetry. Simply because no one buys a poetry book and no one reads as much poetry.
Hence we have a mission to make poetry more readable, more enjoyable and more interesting with the hope that this genre too becomes a saleable art as others. It is difficult to understand where the future will lead to this effort but we firmly believe that an effort may lead to other efforts and may reach to some result, or near to the result at least.

Poets & Writers First
Yeah friends, charity begins at home! Or we can better coin the popular phrase as ‘Charity should begin at home’! We must read our poetry ourselves first. As a writer we should read young writers, budding writers as well as big names. So that every one finds due accolades. Accolades always keep the writers up and musing and writing.
We are running a campaign of reading poetry published at Contemporary Literary Review: India (CLRI) and would rate each poem out of 5. Then we will shortlist 5 best poems published during 2010 since the inception of CLRI. Thus we will keep ourselves busy in reading good poetry and improve our skill of judging poetry.

Read & Rate
Read Poetry Campaign runs for a period of fifteen days from February 1, 2011 and will end on Feb 15, 2011. This way we will achieve two things how interested we are in reading our own poetry (if we have the genuine claim to be heard ourselves) and to recognize others’ talent.
Here is the list of all poems published at CLRI. Please read them and rate them. This is not that you have to read all the poems; you can read as many as you find time for. It is good if you can read all of them. Click on the links to the poems and read them and rate them.
